The company was founded by Mr. Herman Van Rompaey in Koningshooikt.
In these small premises, a former barn on the Aarschotsesteenweg, everyone worked flat out. At first in car mechanics and the maintenance of all kinds of vehicles. Over time, the company specialised in automotive electrics.
As the first on the market, he set up his own exchange system for starters and alternators.
An additional department was launched: Diesel Injection. Over the years, this department has grown into a true speciality of the company, with the latest test benches and specialised staff.
As the company grew, new services were added over the years.
The growing activities led to a move to larger premises and new buildings in Heist-op-den-Berg.
Just six years later, the premises were considerably expanded for the founding of the company EDR, specialised in the remanufacturing of starters and alternators (85 employees).
In addition, H. Van Rompaey became the exclusive importer of Denso diesel parts for the Belux.
To increase production capacity, an additional production unit for the remanufacturing of starters and alternators was set up in Tunisia (160 employees).
Given the great success of the diesel activities, an export department was set up for them. As air conditioning became increasingly common in cars, a new department with specially trained staff was launched: air-conditioning systems for vehicles.
The remanufacturing departments for starters and alternators were taken over by an American multinational (DELCO REMY).
The company expanded its infrastructure with a modern Diesel Common Rail test laboratory, to continue driving innovation in diesel technology.
The new Bosch status is awarded, making H. Van Rompaey bvba a Bosch Diesel Center.
Opening of our new branch in Leuven - Bierbeek, named H. Van Rompaey Leuven.

H. Van Rompaey Heist BV starts as a Bosch Car Service, a logical step given its history as a renowned Bosch service point. Here too, the wide range of garage services remains in place.
