1957 - Foundation by Herman Van Rompaey

Van Rompaey ltd was established in 1957 by Mr Herman Van Rompaey in Koningshooikt. The small, hard working team started out in a transformed barn along the Aarschotsesteenweg, which they used as their premises. At first, they were focused on car mechanics and the maintenance of all types of vehicles. The firm gradually started specialising themselves in car-electrics.

They were the first on the market to set up their very own trading system of starters and alternators.

 

1966 - The start of the Diesel Injection department

An additional department was added to the company: Diesel Injection. Throughout the years, this department was expanded until it became a real company speciality, using the newest benches and new, expert workers.

 

The '70 - '80 - Additional activities

Keeping an eye on the expanding industry, another company activity was added: heating. Our specialists make sure an additional heating is professionally installed in every vehicle. Also, H. Van Rompaey's new specialisation, Diesel Injection, was considered an extra chapter to its story. Moreover, the company became an acknowledged installer and repairer of tachometers. A separate department takes care of this section of our company. H. Van Rompaey ltd became an officially acknowledge Bosch service center, and thanks to thank, we can offer a broad range of Bosch products, going from Bosch car parts to the blue (professional) Bosch tools.

 

1979 - New premises in Heist-op-den-Berg

This was the period when we started using the newly acquired premises on the new company grounds in Heist-op-den-Berg. Total surface: 2800m² .

 

1985 - Business expansion

Less than 6 years later, the premises were expanded significantly. At the same time, the company became the main importer of Denso Diesel parts for Belgium and Luxemburg. This was also the time that EDR was founded, a firm specialised in the overhaul of starters and alternators (85 employees).

 

1988 - Foundation production unit in Tunisia.

Foundation of a production unit, founded for revising starters and alternators in Tunisia.(160 employees). The 90's- Foundation of the export department for diesel activities and the air conditioning systems department. Considering the big success of the diesel activities, an export department is founded. Since air conditioning for cars becomes more and more established, a new department is founded with specially trained personnel: air conditioning systems for vehicles.

1998- Sale of revision departments for starters and alternators.

Revision departments for starters and alternators were sold to an American multinational(DELCO REMY).

 

2002- Expansion of industrial buildings.

Extra expansion of the industrial buildings for the new Diesel common rail test lab. The total surface of the buildings adds up to 5800m².

 

2004 - Bosch statute

The new Bosch statute is attributed. This makes the H.Van Rompaey ltd an Bosch Diesel Center.

 

2006 - Expansion of industrial builidings.

Extra expansion of the industrial buildings.

 

2007 - Foundation of a new branch

Foundation of our new branch in Leuven, by the name of H. Van Rompaey Leuven.

 

2010 - Foundation reparation concept

Foundation of the reparation concept Denso Common Rail vaporizers.
